first_imgAn iconic restaurant and a pizza takeaway in Donegal have been hit with closure orders from the Food Safety Authority this month.The two Donegal businesses were among the 10 Irish eateries found to be in breach of food safety legislation for September.Harry’s Bar and Restaurant in Bridgend was served with a closure order under the Manufacturer/Packer category. The restaurant closed in June, while this order which was served on Donal Doherty under the EC (Official Control of Foodstuffs) Regulations 2010 on September 21st was lifted on October 2nd. Elsewhere, Caspian Pizza in Donegal Town was shut on September 11th for a week under the FSAI Act 1998.Closure orders are issued on businesses if Food Safety officers find there is or there is likely to be a grave and immediate danger to public health at/or in the food premises.Closures Orders can refer to the immediate closure of all or part of the food premises, or all or some of its activities.
